Music Control
Cliffwood is equipped with stereo Alexa speaker pairs in almost every room, and some rooms also have Alexa subwoofers and fire TVs in which case the speakers are paired w the Fire TV for an immersive home theater experience. If you are looking to control video, checkout the Video Control page.
You can ask for music in any room, and it will play music on those speakers only. Cliffwood also has groups that allow you to play music in multiple rooms at the same time. The groups are as follows:
Central Speakers – This group plays music in the Kitchen, Game Room, Living Room and Studio, essentially everywhere inside but the bedrooms
Patio Speakers – This group plays music on all 4 patio speakers. There is a stereo pair over the hot tub and another stereo pair at the corners of the house under the eaves. If you don’t specify it will play only from the speaker pair that you are speaking to.
Bedroom Wing – You guessed it, this one plays music in the Luna Bedroom, Crystal Bedroom & Terra Bedroom.
Its best to avoid playing single songs as you will have silence when the song is over which makes you a pretty lame DJ. Better to play genres or artists, so you have a continuous stream of music.

- “play [artist name]

- “Central Speakers volume 6” (or anything 1-10)
- “Shuffle” or “Stop shuffle.”
- “Stop” or “Pause.”
- “Play” or “Resume.”
Music Service Commands
- “Play [song / album / artist].”

- “Play a Prime Playlist.”
- “Play [song] from Prime Music.”
- “Show me [songs / playlists / genres] from Prime Music.”
- “Who’s the lead singer for [band]?”

- “Create a playlist.”
Music Versions Commands
Version types are Acoustic, Live, Studio, Instrumental, Original, Remastered, Remix, and Clean/Explicit.
- “Play [version type] [song/ album].”
- “Play [version type] [song/ album/ music] by [artist name].”
- “Play [version type] [genre name] [song/ music].”
- “Play [version type] music.”
Dropouts
Amazon tells us we have more Alexa devices than they have ever seen in a single home so their infrastructure is struggling to serve all the Cliffwood devices which is causing dropouts. When this happens just repeat the same command you used to start your music originally. Amazon assures us they are working on the issue.
